Gratitudes - Giving Thanks

A year ago I saw a video about Ann Voskamp and her book 1000 gifts.  It prompted me to do a year long celebration of all the things that I was grateful for.  They ranged from the big things to all the little things that we often take for granted in our busy lifestyles.  I am thankful for the opportunity to have been able to share and hope that you too have been able to look at your life a bit differently to make the most of what you are grateful for.  I plan to continue and create a gratitudes journal and share inspiring and encouraging images.  I hope you come along for this journey and create one of your own.

Thankfulness - Creating in Faith

Despite what we are going or have been through we have a reason to be thankful.  There are so many unseen miracles that happen within our midst on a daily basis, if we were to see everyone we would be overwhelmed.  The sun, moon and the stars all shine without our input, the birds that sing even on a cold morning songs that cheer even when you don’t want to get up, and our bodies perform the necessary functions, keeping us alive to see another day.

That life that you living, have you been taking it for granted? I know I don’t always treat my body with the care that I should, yet I make demands on it each and every day, and when a pain strikes I promise myself that I will take more care.  We have to make the time and really see what is around us, what we have at our disposal and those things that really bless us.

Thankfulness, as we appreciate what we have let us give thought to the many things that others do for us without expecting anything in return.  God calls us to be the light in each other’s lives as we give thanks for the blessing in our own lives.  Can you identify that you have to be thankful for?

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless.  He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.. Psalm 18:30

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe Hebrews 12:28

Here is a Byron Cage song to bless you this morning...
