Increase your Creativity and Unlock your Hidden Talents
Have you tried a wax resist technique on fabric? In week 20 of Material Mondays I share one of the techniques that I use to create the designs on my fabric.
I have been loving creating with fabric and stitching, and whilst I have not yet really been making my own clothes, I love creating the wall hangings and painting on the fabric, selecting beads and all that goes into creating the pieces.
If you are interested in starting creating using textiles, you can find some ideas on my Amazon Sewing ideas board HERE
For Material Mondays this week we are going to be adding beading to our project. This piece is nearing its completion and you get an idea what goes into creating a piece like this.
Growing Henna
Come and join me in the tropical garden where we are looking at the Henna plant, also known as Lawsonia Inermis. It is a tall shrub tree and is used to create the dye henna for skin as well as fabrics. There are also medicinal properties in the leaves that I will be looking into.
Material Mondays - Larger Stitched Kit that I keep in the studio
Welcome to Material Mondays and Week 16, we get to have a closer look at my main sewing kit and some of the supplies that are in there. I usually use this one when I am in the studio and it houses additional needles, elastic, tape measure and more. You can find all the items in my Amazon Store Idea ListI am going to take you on a little journey through the book what I wanted to show you is the color the paintings that are included in the book from paintings that I have created.
Sometimes I write poetry is a collection of words expressing emotions it has been in the process of development over the years and I finally gathered the courage to share it with you. I'm really proud of the way that it came out I really love the feel of the cover, it's a matte finish and very soft. The book is split into eight chapters the chapters, which are love, decisions, thoughts, calling, memories, loneliness, loss and death and community and soul and with each chapter there is a color painting that goes with it, and over a hundred poems.

On the pages I also use old artwork, collaged and stamped tags and embellished handmade paper. I have left space in the journal for additional writing or doodling
