I have always loved dancing. In her later years my mum has started to enjoy dancing and singing. I have taken numerous videos of her which in time will serve as a reminder of her bubbly nature, she always seems to have an extra shot of energy which is especially amazing for an 87 year old! This video is of her dancing to a song called 'thats not my name' (Mavis Style)..

I love her spirit; I hope you n' I are dancing like her, when we reach her age! She is a character!xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a piece of her soul~
You tell your mum I would love to meet her and get some dancing lessons. Thanks Amanda for sharing your beautiful mum and a piece of you also.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! And how beautiful to have these memories of her! I wish I had her (and your) confidence to dance...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I LOVE this! She seems like so much fun. I'm stopping by from the A to Z challenge and I look forward to reading more from you.
ReplyDelete...your mother's adorable:) Cute video.
ReplyDeleteEL
No wonder she is 87--she has kept her body movin'. Loved it! I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteNote: My 83 yr old mom died a week ago. You are sooo blessed to have yours movin' and a groovin'.
Ella, she's great isn't she, I'm trying to get fit so that I can keep up with her!
ReplyDeleteRasz, she'd be pleased she loves meeting new people..
Michelle Im sure you have a bit of swing already in your step:)
Sylvia, thanks for stopping by, will pay you a visit
Elliot, many thanks, you are an inspiration as well!
Susan, thank you for your encouragement. Sorry for your loss, we really do have to appreciate the time we have.
Oh Amanda, this is a treasure! I hope my daughter has trouble keeping up with me when I am 87! William W. Purkey said, "You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
ReplyDeleteLove like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth." Sounds like your mom lives life to the fullest! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Such a sweet post. I love dancing too. It just makes me feel happy.

That your mom can still get around to dancing at her age is admirable! Dancing is a great art form and an excellent exercise, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this "D" post!
Pam, love that saying, try it all the time!
ReplyDeleteMisha, it definitely does bring out those happy emotions..
Wendy, thank you!
Hilary, she is definitely fun to be around, though my knees are not as supple as hers:D
Jeffrey, I have to keep asking myself if she really is 87 she sometimes has more energy than me!
