Growing

Growth is an indication of change.

When I look at my son as a baby, so cute, wanting to hold my hand and have a big hug from his mummy.....
.....to being the tall young man with a deep voice who seems to always be hungry and who will one day fly the nest, I have to change the way I relate to him, no longer wanting my cuddles and sloppy kisses, but needing me to relate to him in a different way - sharing wisdom, love, support, laughter and inspiration.

With the A-Z Challenge I grow in my writing style and content, as an artist I feel I have grown in my approach, techniques and dreams.  In my loss of a dear friend I grew having to reach deep within, to come to terms with the situation, find unknown inner strengh, determination and hope.  I continue to grow as new situations and circumstances arise, and change and challenges present themselves.....

  1. And without growth you and I could not be the wonder that we are, have achieved as much as we have and have loved as much as we do. I think growth ensure that you continue to discover life and new depths of ourselves. Without the inevitability of death would we truly have reason to connect to each other, appreciate each other the way we do?

  3. Great post. I think when we stop growing we stop living.

  4. Growing is hard. Thank you for sharing your reflections on growth. I have a hard time dealing with my daughter's growing up too. She's growing into a beautiful young lady and I just want to hold her like a baby.

    Blessing to you, Amanda.

  6. Lovely post!

And those kids ... my four boys now range from 20-33 and are between 6' and 6'5". They are all creative (a couple rather uniquely so) and such joys.

  7. Oh, how I identify with you and your correlation of the growth of your son (cute then, handsome now) to your writing. Excellent. (I have a towering son, as well, and he is a joy to me.)

  8. ...our sons appear to be roughly the same age, and as you, I often look back and sigh, thinking of how I've had to change my approach as he's grown to the young man he's become. It's amazing to think about:)
